The New Oysterquartz

The following statement has been posted on the Oysterquartz forum.  I cannot confirm its accuracy, other than to say the 5335 and 5355 movements are real and were released in prototype form sometime around 2000. If the statement is true, the time frame mentioned would be about right for a debut at the Basel fair in the Spring of 2006.

A long term friend of mine, who works for Rolex, confirmed to me that the new quartz calibers 5335 & 5355 are ready to be launched. All service centers around the world have been given the services manuals and technicians are receiving training seminars on how to repair/service the above mentioned calibers. According to my friend, after this, it usually takes 6 months to 1 year max. for the product to reach the market. What Rolex has not announced yet is the case which will house the new calibers.
